...and thank you for visiting The Beehive, one of the UK's many beautiful and interesting Vintage and Antique shops!

We're based in picturesque Alnwick in Northumberland, a small market town home to the imposing Alnwick Castle (filming location for Harry Potter), The Alnwick Garden and of course the internationally acclaimed Barter Books, as well as many other independant shops.
​
Inside The Beehive, you will find a dozen vintage and antique dealers selling a stunning array of items including furniture, glass, art, clothing, chinese and japanese items, jewellery, books, bottles, French interior design, and of course the largest second hand vinyl selection between Newcastle and Edinburgh.
​
We have appeared on TV shows like Antiques Road Trip, have been featured in magazines including Period Living, and have helped to furnish other large pubs, guest houses and hotels including the award-winning Beadnell Towers.

You will get a flavour of what we do from this site but there is so much to explore if you can visit.

The Beehive was started by Mark & Sam in May 2017 after we had spent a happy 5 years being part of other antiques & vintage emporia. A decision to change career path by Mark (after spending 30 years in the music business) to running a shop full time prompted the search for premises and The Beehive was up and running shortly after.

The name is a nod to Marks father who, at 82, is still keeping bees which he's done since his childhood. The importance of bees to our community and to nature is very important to us, so any chance to educate folk about the positive nature of these creatures,we grasp with both hands.
Within The Beehive you will find over 10 traders, each occupying their own space within the shop and on certain days you can find these wonderful individuals behind the till doing their 'shift'. These 'bees' all regularly refresh their stands with new finds, leaving the 'Hive' to seek out treasure from far and wide, and bring it home. You can be sure to find something new and exciting turning up every day!
